I have a dbf table named master.dbf with a index file named master.cdx and a fpt file named master.fpt

when i try to open this file in visual foxpro i got a message that this file is associated with a database mydata and ask for locating the database. so i create a database with the same name. and as i add this table to new database still the same message is come.

Please help me as the data store in this table is important and i want to convert it to excel ASAP. and when i try to open this file in Ms Access and excel by import wizard but i got the error message that this file in not in expected format.

hi..,

master.dbf is the database file, you have to open this file for the data..,

see the below link for file types in foxpro.
master.dbf[^]


importing from the MS_Assess : R U tried all the previous formats of Foxpro (i.e Dbase V, Dbase III) etc.. (you can find in the import dialog box file types)

Yes i try all format for importing. but same message is come. then i try to open a file in visual foxpro but still i am not able to open the file.

try to open the file from MS-Excel, if it's not possible probably your DBF is corrupted,
